Practice Management

Mrs Susan Mercier (f)

BA Hons

I have worked as a Practice Manager in Central London for more than 12 years, having obtained my Practice Manager Diploma in 1996. When the principal GP retired in 2008 and closed the practice, I was fortunate to get a job with Ealing Primary Care Trust as a Primary Care Commissioning Manager, where I have been working for almost 3 years. The experience and knowledge I acquired there has been invaluable. I joined Corfton Road Surgery in April 2011 as a Practice Manager to help develop the practice and ensure that the services offered to patients and their carers at the surgery continue to improve.

To this end we are keen to hear your views and to involve you, the patient, as much as possible in the delivery of the services we offer. We would like to know what is important to you and to be able to ask you from time to time how we are doing. Please follow this link to find out how you can get involved.

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
