Industrial action

Corfton Road Surgery is taking part in the BMA-approved GP industrial action from 5th August 2024.

IMPORTANT: During this time, when we have reached the safe limit of patient contacts that a doctor can have (nationally determined as 25 per day) – which covers clinical and non-clinical time spent with patients – face to face appointments, telephone appointments, video appointments, administrative tasks, etc. your calls will be redirected as below:

  • 111 for medical queries
  • www.nhs.uk for general health information
  • 119 for covid related queries
  • 999 for life threatening conditions that require an ambulance.
  • urgent care centres if patients need to be seen by a clinician
  • the Pharmacy First service if their condition is deemed to fit the minor illness criteria

We do not book appointments via e-mail requests and we do not accept medical queries via email – these emails will be deducted

During the industrial action, doctors will not issue administrative letters, complete any kind of reports or engage in any private work: in other words, we will not be engaging in non-NHS work. We will also no longer be issuing medications prescribed privately, or do any tests that they request.

For repeat prescription requests, please email: [email protected]t allowing 2 working days’ notice (48 hours) to process your request.

Many Thanks
Corfton Road Surgery
